BITCOIN

How It Started

I've been part of Bitcoin since 2010.
At first it was pure curiosity: running miners, testing wallets, breaking things.

Back then nobody talked about price. It was about making something that couldn't be stopped.

Years later, I still think that's the core idea.

From Hobby to Infrastructure

Over time, I watched Bitcoin evolve from a small experiment into serious financial infrastructure.

I've seen startups become banks, and banks start to learn from Bitcoiners.

My own path followed a similar arc, from engineer to architect to consultant for regulated banks building on crypto rails.

Lightning.News

Now I tell stories instead of block hashes.

As Editor-in-Chief of Lightning.News, I write about Bitcoin as hard money, infrastructure, and payments, not speculation.

I interview builders, founders, and executives who shape the next wave of open financial systems.

The goal is simple: connect the traditional business world with the new one forming around Bitcoin and Lightning.

Interviews

Cadena Bitcoin: A Conversation with Kevin Bell

Kevin Bell shares his journey from 25 years in traditional finance to building Cadena Bitcoin, a non-custodial lending platform in El Salvador. The interview explores why self-custody matters, how Bitcoin offers hope for future generations, and why he left Canada to build in a country where financial innovation is welcomed rather than blocked by gatekeepers.

Relai CTO Adem Bilican: Building Bitcoin for the Real World

Relai is a leading Swiss Bitcoin-only onramp application founded in Zurich in 2020. The company has achieved over $1 billion in trading volume and surpassed 500,000 downloads. Co-founder and CTO Adem Bilican discusses his personal journey into Bitcoin, Relai's expansion trajectory, and the technical hurdles encountered while integrating Lightning Network payments.

Community

I stay close to where things actually happen.

Volunteering and meeting people at Adopting Bitcoin (El Salvador), Bitcoin MedellΓn, BTC Prague, Warsaw Bitcoin Film Fest, PlanB Forum (Lugano, Switzerland), and PlanB Forum (El Salvador).

These places show the real progress: builders who ship code, fix problems, and move adoption forward.

It's a global community but it still feels small and honest.

Why I Care

Bitcoin is the most solid system I've ever seen.

No PR, no permission, no shortcuts.

It just works, year after year.

That's rare. That's why I'm still here.

Engineer. Writer. Bitcoiner.
I build, I write, I help others make it work.
And I keep documenting how this new world takes shape, one story at a time.
