From a founder’s vision to a working product

The goal
Turn a founder’s vision into a product for architectural firms.
My responsibility
As Director of Platform Engineering, I work directly with the founder, build the platform and bring individual tools together into a working product. My responsibility covers the technical whole and delivery.
What it enables
Working demonstrations and analysis of real project data help the founder and prospective customers evaluate the product and decide what comes next. The product helps architectural firms reuse their knowledge across projects. Development is ongoing.

A new direction for address search

Helped the team evaluate Elasticsearch, built automation to load address data from Azure, and developed performance-testing tools. The team took the code forward in its own repository.

Working with Raphael on DanceConnect: understanding what the business needs, agreeing the next step and building the technology together. A direct relationship between the person shaping the business and the person helping build it.

    I help your engineers turn what they have built with AI into a product you can run and maintain. We improve the code, check security, add useful tests, and agree how changes are reviewed and released.

  • Learn on the work you’re doing

    I work with engineers and team leads on their actual project. We solve problems together, talk through decisions and write down what the next person needs to know.

At Roche in 2020 and 2021, I led the development of a machine learning platform and wrote code alongside the team. That work covered architecture, development and deployment. I bring that experience to today’s AI tools. The Roche project

I work with you on technical decisions, AI and how the team builds software. We agree what I’m responsible for and what stays with your team. You can see what we’re doing, what it costs and what comes next. I stay involved in the actual work.

Help leading a project or team

You may need someone to lead a platform project, an AI rollout, a migration or an engineering team. I organise the work, build with the team and teach as we go. We agree when the team is ready to continue on its own.

Help with a technical decision

We look at the question you need to answer: architecture, an AI tool, or whether a prototype is worth taking further. We test what needs testing and work out the next step together.

The projects I value most have a clear goal, a decision-maker I can talk to and the trust to take responsibility. I enjoy understanding the business as much as building the technology.
